HALO
From humble beginning’s in the heart of Beeston, HALO was brought into being by a group of people passionate about ensuring that adults with learning disabilities were given a voice.
Some of our members goals have been:
- To study for and achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene & Safety
- To engage with Leeds Rhino’s completing employability skills courses
We have planned activities weekly that the group enjoy and a timetable that has regular changes where our members are consulted on what they want their day with HALO to look like.
HALO is a day opportunity service for adults with learning disabilities and autism aged 18 and over.
HALO runs daily at our organisation’s flagship site, Hamara Healthy Living Centre, Tempest Road, Beeston, Leeds, LS11 6RD.
HALO has been operating since 2010 and the term means Health, Achievement & Learning Opportunities and is going from strength to strength. Engaging our members in a meaningful variety of activities based on our person-centred approach.
