The Preventative NEET project works with young people aged 9-19 years.
We run a girl’s youth clubs, junior youth club and a junior gym session to promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle.During the Holidays we run The Aspirational Activity programme where we take on 15 children from the local schools, during the programme we carry out activities such arts and crafts, swimming trips, theme park trips, canoeing, raft building, horseriding, ice skating and cinema trips. Annually, we hold a cultural awareness day which hosts stalls and activities from various faiths and groups for a fun packed and informative day.
We work closely with young people and the relevant agencies to ensure that we are offering and carrying out services that aspire and engage young people. Our aim is to empower young people and encourage development, building aspirations, confidence and self esteem through recreational and personal development activities.
We use our in house links such as the connexions services and Streetvibe project to refer and sign post young people to ensure that they are receiving the relevant support and gaining the most out of the services that we provide. If we are unable to do this in house we make the relevant referrals to other statutory and voluntary organisations.
All activities currently take place at the Hamara Centre by our fully experienced and qualified youth workers work on the Preventative NEET project with a variety of expertise.
