Gaining Understanding, Appreciation & Inspiration

Showcasing faith inspired initiatives in Leeds

Wednesday 19th 2014 –1-5pm

Hamara HLC, Tempest Road, Leeds

Hamara are bringing faiths together once again to celebrate diversity and showcase the work faith groups do with community of Leeds and this years theme is Faith inspired initiatives.

All major faiths have doctrinal commitments to peace, justice, honesty, service, community, personal responsibility and forgiveness, which can contribute to the development of community networks and the trusting relationships that characterise positive social capital.

How has your Faith Inspired you?

Many faith organisations are integral to their local communities in addressing a range of issues such as poverty, homelessness, crime, health Issues, pastoral care and more.

As part of inter-faith week, The Leeds Muslim Youth Forum (LMYF) in conjunction with the Hamara Healthy Living Centre, will be hosting an inter-faith day fair. We would like community and faith based organisations to showcase how they have brought value-added to local communities, which may have been inspired by their faith.

The Leeds Muslim Youth Forum is launching its Interfaith Campaign encouraging young people to play an active role in civil and community life, working with faith groups to tackle many community issues, build interfaith relations and develop opportunities for collaborative work and the sharing of resources and good practice.
