What can I do?
When it comes to making changes to your weight small changes make a big difference. Try taking a step by step approach! Think small, realistic changes to your diet and level of physical activity that can become a part of your daily routine.
That means there are two main options if you want to lose weight: eat less or do more exercise. The best way to lose weight is a combination of the two. Want to lose weight and feel healthy without giving up all the things you love? You don’t have stop it, just swap it!

What support is available to help me lose weight?
There are lots of activities and services which run across Leeds to support people to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.
Weigh Ahead, Leeds Adult Weight Management Service is a service that supports people who are significantly overweight. They give people the confidence to change their lifestyle, to make healthier choices and make lasting changes that will help to reduce and maintain weight.
They are a team of highly specialist physical activity advisors and dieticians run by Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust. They offer a menu of different packages and let you choose what’s best for you.
Is Weigh Ahead for you?
If you have a BMI that is above 30 or 27 with other health conditions such as diabetes and you would like to lose weight then Weigh Ahead may be able to help. Click here to find out more.
