Would you like to contribute to a community service that makes a difference to the lives of individuals every day?
APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
If you are someone who can take on a challenge, problem-solve and have a can do attitude, then Hamara Healthy Living Centre would like to hear from you.
Working primarily (but not exclusively) with the South Asian community and now employing over 20 staff, Hamara currently delivers several different strands of work including: Information and Advice, Health Promotion / Education, Older People’s Services, Learning Disabilities, Women’s Activities, Sports and Exercise, Youth Services, Community Cohesion and Training Programmes. Hamara is regarded as a model of good practice both within its sector and by many statutory agencies in Leeds; a fact verified by the contracts it has been awarded by Leeds City Council, NHS Leeds and Social Services to name a few of Hamara’s many partners.
The Board is currently made up of 10 knowledgeable, dedicated and valued volunteers from a wide ranging background that ensure Hamara operates effectively and progresses in accordance with our governing documents.
Hamara is recruiting 2 new Trustees and values the benefits that a diverse Board brings to the organisation. All applicants will receive equal consideration. However, we are particularly interested in a candidate with a background in revenue generation, business development and/or fundraising at a strategic level either in the private or third sector. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate that they can make a useful contribution to the Board and be a good representative for their community.
Membership is non-remunerated and would require individuals to prepare for and attend approximately 6 meetings per year and to participate in the Board sub groups (including additional meetings) throughout the year on an “as required” basis. Applicants must pass the Charity Commission eligibility criteria, a disqualification check and DBS check if successful.
