HALO – Learning Disabilities Project

What is the project purpose? To empower adults with learning disabilities, to integrate our members into the wider community, to provide them with opportunities, to increase confidence, to provide health information and advice and to support carers to access support

Who can use this service? Anybody over the age of 18 who has a registered learning disability.

How can people access this service? There are two main ways of accessing the HALO service. If you are receiving personalised budgets, you are eligible to access the service. We can make a referral to Adult Social Care on your behalf. The other way of accessing the service is if you have been assessed by Adult Social Care and offered a place at Hamara.

Who works on the project? We have a dedicated team consisting of; Health and social care manager – Arif Iqbal, Project Officer – Azra Ahmed, Project Officer – Sabiha Hussain, Project officer– Fazle Rabbi, Project officer– Wasim Hussain, Personal Assistant – Javed Ahmed, Personal Assistant – Soraya Sharif, Personal assistant – Nizamuddin, Bus driver – Kenneth Appleyard, Bus driver – Fazal Ahmed, Volunteer – Joanna Staten, Volunteer – Samera Hussain – Volunteer
