On the 18th June, Hamara Supplementary School launched it’s Heritage Languages project and hosted a Languages Event. 12 supplementary schools from across Leeds attended, showcasing the diversity of Leeds and to celebrate and highlight the wonderful work supplementary schools are doing in order raise the profile of home languages. The event included performances, ranging from poetry, dance and music and approximately 150 people attended.

Swahili Community Group
The event was also attended by Councillor Jane Dowson (Executive lead for Learning) and the Learning Improvement team from Leeds City Council and 4 Schools were awarded their Bronze certificates from the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education, including Hamara.
